The Modern Foreign Language Department at De La Salle College Jersey took it upon themselves to find a way to support those affected by the floods in Valencia.

Yvonne Joye from St John’s De La Salle Retreat Centre in Dublin has reflected on a very uplifting experience that highlights just how rewarding it can be for educators in our District, and how we can learn from the young people entrusted to our care.

De La Salle College, Belfast were delighted to welcome Christophe Henry from Le Groupe de La Salle in Reims, France, to explore future links as Lasallian schools.

“Hearts in the Peripheries” is the title of the online meeting suggested by the International Council for Lasallian Association and the  Educational Mission (CIAMEL) for December 9th at 3 p.m.

As part of the Arts Festival, Beneavin De La Salle College had a ‘Lasallian Gathering’ in the College on Thursday 24th October and they invited Lasallian schools to share in their Arts Festival and strengthen links across schools within the Lasallian family.

After mid-term break at Castletown Pastoral Centre, November has seen us welcome a variety of Transition Year groups, in addition to a Student Council group that came for leadership training, while remembering those who have gone before us.

Ove the past few weeks, the Lasallian Family have enjoyed a number of initiatives that highlight the value of community and making positive connections, including hosting a coffee morning for parents, celebrating World Children’s Day and welcoming Director of Formation, Pat Walsh, for a visit.

The History department at St Illtyd’s Catholic High School took 38 students to Ypres in Belgium for a tour of the World War One Battlefields in June. The group went for three days and had a fantastic time visiting many of the important sites associated with World War One.

The Student Leadership team at De La Salle College Macroom have been very active recently in helping to share the message of our Mission throughout the school.

Lecale Trinity Grammar School proudly marked its official opening on Thursday, 19 September 2024 with a mass celebrated by Bishop Alan McGukian and the unveiling of the school plaque by Bishop McGukian and Brother Ben Hanlon fsc, Provincial of the De La Salle Brothers.

Advent is approaching and we are reminded to prepare for the Light coming into the world by people putting up Christmas trees and lights galore.

The celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of St Cassian’s Centre began in October with a very special retreat.

As the 18th edition of the International Lasallian Days for Peace (ILDP) drew to a close, we were reminded of the profound realities faced by migrants, as highlighted in our collaboration with the NGO, Asylum Speakers.

Among the many activities at St Benildus College in Dublin, staff and students have been taking steps to care for their mental health this month.

On Wednesday, Brother Superior General Armin Luistro travelled to St Helens, where visited De La Salle School followed by a meeting with the District Council, and also met with the Brothers in St John’s House.
