The invitation to design this year has once again illustrated the abundance of talent and creativity that exists within our District.

The District Young Lasallian Council (DYLC), and the wider District Mission teams, were delighted to receive 233 entries this year for the Christmas Card designs.

One of the great success stories of the District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta, was celebrated in style on Saturday November 26th with a ceremony to mark the 50th anniversary of Miguel House in Castletown.

Over the last few weeks, the work leading to the Second District Mission Assembly has intensified.  Three writing groups, one per theme of the Assembly, have started their work on initial working drafts of grounding statements.

During the week of November 14th-18th, students from all year groups in De La Salle College Junior School, Malta, took part in several activities related to anti-bullying and children’s rights.

Br. Tommy Walsh, Auxiliary Visitor, recently made a visit to Castlebar Primary School where he met with Principal, Joe Carty, and Animator, Seamus Devaney.

Over the last two weeks De La Salle College Waterford held their overnight soccer fundraiser and it proved to be a huge success by raising a total of €8330.58 for an extremely worthy cause.

Students at Stella Maris Junior School in Malta have taken part in diverse and interesting activities that reflect the strong Lasallian Values in the school.

Students Leaders at St Peter’s Catholic School alongside the Chaplaincy Team hosted a special prayer event for the month of November.

As always, students at St Joseph’s College, Beulah Hill, have been very busy with a variety of activities in the school, including a Lasallian retreat.

Students at St Illtyd’s College, Cardiff, are continuing to explore and develop their Lasallian ethos with a range of activities, with one of the highlights of the past few months being the Bee’s Knees sustainability project.

To recognise and understand the importance of building excellent relationships in De La Salle High School Downpatrick School, Carlos Sanha (HIP Psychology) talked through an enjoyable workshop with our Year 8's in school on Monday November 28th.

At St Benildus College, Dublin, the annual fundraising event, ‘Run for Life’ took place on Friday October 28th.

The Lasallian Student Leadership Programme 2022 took place this week in their headquarters in Castletown Co. Laois. Students from Lasallian schools throughout the country attended the two-day student leadership course.

De La Salle Jersey has paid its respects to Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, who sadly died at Balmoral on September 8th aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.

At De La Salle Senior School, Malta, students have been enjoying a wide range of activities from debating to retreats, art to volunteering, computing to looking after the environment, and much more.

Students at De La Salle College 6th Form have been taking part in a number of events in recent weeks, including retreats in Mellieha and an inner peace reflection.

At La Salle Retreat Centre, Casdtletown, we are privileged to be able to welcome students from so many different places, but what unites them is their goodness, kindness and respect they show to us and each other. 

Retreats at La Salle Retreat Centre Dublin continue to thrive at our new centre in Ballyfermot. The feedback on the premises has been positive from pupils and teachers alike.

November has been a very busy month in St Gerald's De La Salle College Castlebar, events including, gardening, shoebox appeal, Chess Club, College Awareness Week, debating and Maths & Science Week.
