The theme for the new academic year 2023/24 is: Lasallian DNA – Where is your focus?

On Monday July 3rd, La Salle Malta Senior Leaderships team met for an end of year seminar at our Pastoral Centre in Mellieha.

The weekend of July 7th – 9th saw the annual Lasallian Camp at St Cassian's Centre in Kintbury, and once again it proved to be a memorable experience for all who took part.

Among the many activities enjoyed by students at De La Salle School Basildon in recent weeks was the visit to St Cassian’s, Kintbury, for the annual Lasallian Camp.

Day four of the District Chapter was held on Castletown on Saturday July 15th, which brought to an end the very successful gathering held over four days in the three countries in our District.

St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy has special reason to celebrate this month as the 1719 Society was launched in the school, and members of the Society were inaugurated at their Awards Evening.

The District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta is delighted to welcome Pat Walsh to our Office of Mission following his appointment to the role of Director of Formation effective from September 1st, 2023.

Students at Castlebar Primary School are ending the year on a high as they enjoyed success in a number of high-profile events.

The students at De La Salle College Malta are never short of activities and over recent weeks it was no different as experiences included a weekend retreat in Mellieha.

The Lasallian Family in Waterford had an extra reason to celebrate Founder’s Day this year as they used the occasion to dedicate the new school building to the memory of Br. Tim O’Shea.

St Illtyd’s have illustrated once again the value of community spirit as various groups have come together to help bring life to the school garden. A lot has been achieve in recent times, but they are seeking more support.

It has been a busy end to the year at De La Salle Retreat Centre where the team have enjoyed visits from a variety of groups.

The Irish Pastoral Advisory Board had a very successful meeting in Castletown on Wednesday June 7th where retreat teams reflected on the wonderful work that is being carried out in our centres.

Students and staff at St Nicholas Monastery School, Dundalk, have enjoyed many big events over the past few weeks including, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, Founder’s Day and Sports Day.

The annual sports day at De La Salle High School, Downpatrick, is one of the highlights of the calendar and this year’s event once again proved very enjoyable as the students displayed their athletic talents.

The work to deliver on the outcomes of the District Mission Assembly gathered momentum this week when the District MEL Council and District Teams (Provincial Team, Mission Team and other District personnel) met for detailed discussions.

Founder’s Day celebrations at De La Salle College Churchtown were even more special this year for a variety of reasons.

Day three of the District Chapter was hosted by the St John’s Community, St Helens, on Saturday, June 17th.

Once again it was an open and positive gathering on the theme of ‘Restructuring’ that allowed delegates to discuss items of importance, both in plenary and in small groups, with much of the emphasis on issues of governance.

The meeting of the Council of the Lasallian Educational Mission of RELEM (Lasallian Region of Europe and the Mediterranean) was held at the Generalate in Rome between June 13 and 14, 2023.

During May half term, students and staff from St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy responded to a calling as they journeyed to Lourdes lived the Lasallian values and enjoyed a very rewarding time.
