Downpatrick students display their talents at sports day

The annual sports day at De La Salle High School, Downpatrick, is one of the highlights of the calendar and this year’s event once again proved very enjoyable as the students displayed their athletic talents.

On a vibrant Thursday morning, the school buzzed with energy and excitement as students and teachers eagerly gathered for the highly anticipated annual sports day.

The air was filled with a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition. The sun shone brightly, casting a warm glow over the sprawling field adorned with fluttering flags.

As the whistle blew, the sports events began in earnest. Students sprinted down the tracks, their determination shining through their focused expressions. The field resonated with cheers and applause as athletes showcased their athletic prowess in various disciplines such as crossbar challenge, Poc Fada, basketball, high jump,100m and 200 m sprint races, relay events and shot put.

At the end of the day, medals were awarded to the outstanding performers, celebrating their achievements and acknowledging their hard work on the day.
