De La Salle College Dundalk’s U15 football team displayed their fine talents as they were crowned North East Leinster Division 1 champions.

Three members of De La Salle College Senior School educators Ms. Natalia Bugeja, Ms. Beatrice Micallef, and Dr. Marie Josette Parnis, embarked on an ERASMUS+ course in Budapest.

DLS Basildon Chaplaincy welcomed new chaplain Marie-France Bogul from St. Joseph’s for a CPD Session on Chaplaincy and to look around the school.

The recent CIL (Lasallian International Formation Centre) 2024 Programme which took place in Rome in January, was boosted by a very strong representation from the District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta.

Lasallian Projects are running one work project in Kenya this year but we are also starting to invite young people to think about summer next year.

The CHoRE Gathering 2024 provided another opportunity for reflection, evaluation, sharing and learning that will help strengthen the Lasallian Mission in schools across the District. Hosted by the St Cassian’s Centre in Kintbury on February 21st and 22nd, the gathering was attended by Chaplains, Heads of RE and Animators, from across our schools in Great Britain.

The New Staff Orientation programme held in Castletown provided another welcome reminder that the future of the Lasallian Mission within our District is very much in safe hands.

The De La Salle College Junior School has embarked on a week-long celebration of Animal Awareness, engaging students in various activities that promote empathy, understanding, and care for animals.

The dedicated members of the Student Council 2023/24 at De La Salle College Waterford are the driving force behind amplifying student voices at De La Salle College. The lads are committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive school community, working arduously to ensure every student's perspective is heard and valued.

On the Feast of our Patron Saint, St. Benild Romancon celebrated on the 29th January, all our pupils at St Benild School were engaged in asking Bro Austin Gili, Brother in charge for La Salle Malta several interesting questions about the Saint and being a Brother.

The District Mission Team has been in contact with schools and pastoral centres to provide an update/ reminder regarding the Lasallian Awards and Founder’s Day.

Monastery National School, Ardee, celebrated Catholic Schools Week. The theme was, Catholic Schools Week 2024 – Communities of Service. 

The many activities in De La Salle School Basildon over the past few weeks have included a Christmas hamper collection, sharing an Epiphany Blessing and making plans for an outside, sustainable, inclusive, multipurpose teaching and wellbeing space.

The District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta, along with the global Lasallian Family is mourning the loss of Br. George Whyte, of the Miguel House Community in Castletown, who passed away on Sunday January 21st, just a week short of his 90th birthday.

The Retreat Team at Castletown are continuing to sow the seeds of love among the young people who continue to attend in great numbers.

Students at St Peter’s Bournemouth had a busy time of late as they experienced a day at catering college and had success in the Bar Mock Squad regional heats.

St. Gerald’s DLS College embraced the theme of Catholic Schools as Communities of Service, weaving a tapestry of activities and reflections that celebrated the commitment to both faith and action.

For Holocaust Memorial Day this year in St Gregory’s, we have been using this year’s theme from the Holocaust Memorial Trust and exploring the concept of freedom in Chaplaincy, tutor time and lessons this week.
