First year students at De La Salle College Churchtown organised an event in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day on March 21st. Key to the success of this day was the inspiring presentation given by Luis Allen who is a 6th year student from Salesian College Celbridge.

On Tuesday evening, the Year 10 Mandarin Excellence Programme students from St Joseph’s College Beulah Hill set off to Birmingham to take part in the 'Journey to the east - A Voyage of Discovery' with Mr Austin and Mr Dench.

Activities at De La Salle College Malta Junior School in recent weeks have included celebrations for Earth Day and raising awareness about autism.

TY students who are just back from a trip to Northern Italy. The lads got a tour of the San Siro in Milan. They visited Verona and Venice and spent a day in Gardaland at the theme park.

Lasallians from across the District and Region gathered at Kintbury for ‘Seeing Beyond’ the District Lasallian follow-up programme over Palm Sunday weekend.

As we move quickly towards the end of the year at De La Salle College Waterford, the most noteworthy events happening in the school will be the official opening of our new building and the continued work on the reconditioning of the school organ.

Students from the Lasallian Ambassador team at St Margaret Ward led the school community in a celebration Liturgy to kick off the Easter season at the start of last term.

Summer burst through our doors this month at De La Salle Retreat Centre Dublin in the form of sunshine, new people and new schools.

After a refreshing Easter break the Castletown Retreat team has returned to the Centre and continue to welcome groups and also paid tribute to the inspiration of Br. Mike Murphy.

 The Castletown Community has experienced many activities over the past month, including the hosting of Meitheal students and the District Chapter, while there was also a memorable visit to a local Abbey.

As part of the 120th Anniversary of the arrival of the Brothers of De La Salle in Malta, the Lasallian District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta is organising a number of events to mark this occasion.

Day 1 of District Chapter 2023 was held in Castletown on Saturday April 15th and attended by delegates, observers and guests from across the District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta.

Students at Cardinal Langley RC High School have been very active over recent weeks as they have taken part in a retreat in St Cassian’s Kintbury, while also displaying their Lasallian Values through a variety of charitable initiatives.

The District’s plans for the next four years took a significant step forward on Saturday April 15th when Capitulants at Day 1 of District Chapter 2023 gave their backing to the proposals agreed at the Mission Assembly in February.

The Brothers in Malta held their annual retreat during the Easter period. This year the retreat was held in an innovative manner as it was animated by teachers, partners and students from the two Lasallian colleges in Malta.

The District of Ireland, Great Britain & Malta is currently inviting applications for the full-time position of Director of Formation.

Students at St Benild School have had many occasions to celebrate in recent weeks including, walking with the statue of Our Lady of Sorrows, World Down Syndrome Day and International Women’s Day.

As we approach the Easter break, pupils at Castlebar Primary School can reflect on a busy few weeks where they took part in a range of events.

Lasallians in the District are reminded that registration is open for the Induction Lasallian CPD in Malta which takes from August 16th to 23rd. This is the extended induction formation programme and is available to anyone working in a Lasallian school or centre.
