Lent Projects at St Margaret Ward
Students from the Lasallian Ambassador team at St Margaret Ward led the school community in a celebration Liturgy to kick off the Easter season at the start of last term. The students worked really hard to choose readings, write prayers and reflections and led our school community to start the season of Easter.
We reflected on the Gospel for Easter Sunday morning, where the disciples discover the empty tomb, and also considered the Pope’s words from ‘Christus Vivit’ who says:
‘Don’t be bystanders: Dear young people, please, do not be bystanders in life. Get involved! Jesus was not a bystander. He got involved…immerse yourselves in the reality of life, as Jesus did”. Above all, in one way or another, fight for the common good, serve the poor, be protagonists of the revolution of charity and service.’
Through this, they encouraged all members of the school community to ‘get involved’ in life in some way, serving others and working together. We then finished our celebrations with a chocolate egg and all students received a prayer card to remind them of the Pope’s words in future.
