Job Description
 
The District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta invites applications from eligible, outstanding educators with the requested qualifications and experience for the post of Director of Formation.
 
The successful candidate for the post of Director of Formation will be joining a dynamic team at the Office of Mission and will collaborate extensively with many committed Lasallians who serve on the various Animation Teams, Committees and Councils across the District.  The Director of Formation will be entrusted with the planning, implementation and evaluation of Lasallian Formation Programmes at all levels in the District.
 
The Director of Formation is a full-time position in the District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta. The Director of Formation serves in the Office of Mission and reports to the Director of Mission.
 
Main responsibilities:
 
The successful candidate, as a valued member of the team within the Office of Mission, will plan, implement and evaluate District Lasallian Formation Programs at all levels.
 
Description of Responsibilities:
 
In the area of Lasallian Formation for Mission, the successful candidate, as a valued member of the team within the Office of Mission, will:
 

  • Manage, implement and update of the District Formation Plan;

  • Supports, evaluates, and provides initial and ongoing formation for [or makes these opportunities known and available to] all members of the District. These formation activities include:

    • Faculty, Staff and Administration:

      • Orientation of New Personnel

      • On-going Formation

      • Leadership and More Advanced/Intensive Formation

      • Immersion Opportunities and Service Learning

      • Resource Development and Distribution

      • Special attention to Religious Education and Chaplaincy

    • Students:

      • Leadership Formation

      • Immersion Opportunities

      • Lasallian Youth

    • Governors and Members of Boards of Management:

      • Orientation of New Governors and Members of Boards of Management

      • On-going Formation

      • Resource Development and Distribution

    • On-going Formation for all Lasallians;

  • Reviews and maintains a variety of resources;

  • Supports with the Director of Mission in the preparation of an annual budget for Formation in the District;

  • In collaboration with the Communication Officer, promotes and communicates all formation opportunities/events to the Lasallian network;

  • Serves as a resource person to the District and the Region of Europe and the Mediterranean;

  • Assesses Formation needs and creates and facilitates meetings, workshops, and in-services that will gather people from local works for discussion, collaboration, and formation.

 
 
The successful candidate, as a valued member of the team within the Office of Mission and in collaboration with the Director of Mission will:
 

  • Coordinate activities of the District Young Lasallians Council;

  • Coordinate activities and support Lasallian Animators of the District.

 
The successful candidate’s employment will be subject to:
 

  • Reference Checks;

  • Compliance with Lasallian, statutory and Diocesan formation/training guidelines across the District, including those related to negligence, sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and the safety and protection of children; 

  • Completion of all necessary safeguarding and background checks in all countries of the District;

  • Entitlement, ability and intention to lawfully live and work in Ireland or UK while in post.

 
Remuneration: Depends upon previous experience and will reflect the administrative and leadership nature of the role.
 
Starting Date: Negotiable, but not later than 01.09.2023
