New staff in our Irish schools took part in the Teacher induction programme in Castletown on October 5th and 6th under the guidance of Director of Formation, Pat Walsh, and Auxiliary Visitor Br. Tommy Walsh.

Two educators from De La Salle College Malta had the opportunity to engage with a fellow Lasallian school in Ireland when they visited St Colman’s National School in Macroom.

The De La Salle Pastoral Centre, Belfast has hit the ground running this year. We’ve enjoyed having the company of Post-Primary students participating in our retreats and the feedback has been very encouraging.

A wonderful Student Leadership Programme for students in Ireland was held in Castletown on Tuesday and Wednesday. Organised by the MEL Committee Ireland, it proved to be a very successful event with insightful presentations.

An exciting new chapter in Lasallian education in the District will commence on September 1st, 2024, with the opening of Lecale Trinity Grammar School in Downpatrick.

St Seton’s Secondary School marked its official opening with a very fitting ceremony on Friday September 22nd.

All at Beneavin De La Salle College extend a big welcome to all the new first year students who have settled in really well after their Belonging Plus Programme.

This year at Ardscoil La Salle Raheny started in a very positive manner with a new prayer group being held once a week. It has been a wonderful opportunity for our students to come relax and reflect.

For the first time since the pandemic, each year group at St Peter’s Catholic School Bournemouth came together to celebrate Mass for the start of the School year.

This year Year 9 learners at St Illtyd’s Catholic High School again took part in the First Give Programme where learners gain an understanding of Social Issues within the community and then complete a social action project to raise awareness and funds for their chosen charity.

Students at De La Salle School St Helens continue to explore new ways to live the Lasallian ethos. In recent times they have been busy interviewing Brothers in the nearby St John’s House Community, helping others through a podcast and helping fight food poverty.

St Benildus College are preparing for this year’s Run for Life event as they aim to reach the €1m mark through this much anticipated school tradition.
