St Benildus aim to reach €1m in Run for Life

Each year within St. Benildus College we are lucky to witness the varied and vibrant life of our staff and pupils. From academic success, sporting achievements, creative talent and charitable endeavours, each day is an opportunity to see the diverse and talented students that thrive within the St. Benildus community.

While the talents of our students may vary, their dedication, hard work and Lasallian spirit connects them all. This is most notably seen in our whole school charity initiative, Run for Life.

Run for Life is our annual 3K running event where students from First to Sixth Year raise money for a range of local and national charities. The event kicks off in September with many events leading up to the big day. From carol services, soccer tournaments, road side collections and so much more, the Benildus boys are always getting involved while showing great displays of enthusiasm and spirit.

It is an integral part of our school and local community and has gone from strength to strength each year, raising €942,000 since 2001! This year we are aiming to reach the million-euro mark with each student encouraged to ‘be a hero and help add the sixth zero!’

This initiative is a great way to support people in need but is also a great way for our students to learn more about local and national issues and embrace the core values of our school. It is safe to say that this year’s Run for Life will be just as spirited and lively as ever!
