Transition Year students at St Gerald’s De La Salle College Castlebar continued to showcase their dedication to community involvement and service.

De La Salle College Junior School students are diving into sustainable gardening through a hands-on hydroponics project. The initiative guides students from understanding hydroponics to growing plants and designing systems.

Over the last few weeks the team at La Salle Pastoral Centre Castletown have welcomed Transition Year groups, Prefects and Confirmation classes from Tipperary, Carlow and Laois to the Centre.

Director of Formation, Pat Walsh, completed his visits to all schools in the District when he travelled to Jersey on Thursday May 16th.

The kind-hearted efforts of one student at De La Salle school St Helens has been acknowledged by the charity that received a very generous donation and support.

An exciting new initiative is being launched by the La Salle Foundation that will bring the global strategies of the Lasallian Mission into the classrooms across our District, and to help those most in need across the world.

The District is mourning the loss of Br. Gerald Fogarty who passed away in St John’s House, St Helens, on Friday April 12th.
