Memorable start to year for Belfast students

Students at De La Salle College Belfast have had a memorable start to the new year with events including a ‘New Beginnings’ Mass and success on the sporting front.

New Beginnings

On Thursday September 29th, our College Chaplain Fr McCullagh celebrated a Mass for Year 8 pupils in the college assembly hall.  The theme was ‘New Beginnings’ and the service was also attended by parents and guardians. At the end of the mass, all Year 8 pupils performed the school song – ‘True To Our School’.  This was a very proud Lasallian moment.

Sporting Success

De La Salle turned on the style in the Antrim Year 10 Shield Final with a 4-12 to 1-00 victory over a gallant St Patrick’s Lisburn side at Dunsilly on Wednesday October 5th.

In sunny yet brisk conditions, De La Salle produced a spectacular performance, showing skill and determination to come out on top.

This was a majestic performance against a determined St Patrick’s Lisburn side who never stopped trying until the final whistle. Kevin McArdle collected the trophy to the delight of the De La Salle following in attendance. A proud moment for the school and their management team of Mr Burns, Mr Wallace, Mr Doherty and Mr Alea.
