Pat overwhelmed by welcomes as school tours continue

Director Formation, Pat Walsh, had returned to Great Britain for the latest leg of the tour of schools in the District and has been overwhelmed by the welcomes he has received.

Commencing on Monday November 13th, Pat, along with Auxiliary Visitor, Br. Tommy Walsh, began with a visit to St Gregory’s Catholic College where they met with Headteacher, Melissa George, and Chaplain, Matt Robinson. One of the highlights was seeing the beautiful chapel in the school.

Br. Tommy and Pat then made the short trip to St Augustine’s Catholic College, Trowbridge, where there was another warm welcome from Headteacher, Aidan Dowle, and an opportunity to have a tour of the school.

On Tuesday morning, they headed south to Bournemouth and called to see Headteacher, Ben Doyle, at St Peter’s Catholic School. Pat and Br. Tommy had a chance to see around the school and also to meet with Chaplain, Juliette Malan, and Student Lasallian Leaders.

The next stop was at St Edward’s RC/CE School in Poole where they were welcomed by Assistant Headteacher, Chris Farrow. While there, they had an opportunity to see some of the wonderful facilities in the school.

On Wednesday, they made the trop across the border into Wales to meet Headteacher, David Thomas. As part of the tour they were photographed beside the original Signum Fidei banner and the original podium of the De La Salle School.

On Thursday November 17th, Pat Walsh headed to the North West to visit Cardinal Langley RC High School, Middleton, and was accompanied by Jo Millea, Co-ordinator of Special Projects. Pat and Jo were met by Headteacher, Andy Bridson, who welcomed them in for a chat and a tour of the school.

A wonderful week of school visits came to an end when Pat Walsh and Jo Millea called to St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy in Stoke-on-Trent.

Headteacher, Dominic McKenna, welcomed both and provided a tour of the school which illustrated all the great work being done by staff and students to continue the Lasallian Mission.

Pat Walsh was back on the road on Thursday November 23rd when he was joined by Auxiliary Visitor, Br. Michael Curran, for a visit to De La Salle School, Basildon.

Br. Michael and Pat were greeted by Headteacher, Paul Norris, who took them on a tour of the school to see the excellent initiatives that help continue the Lasallian Mission.
