Many events in Beneavin to celebrate Founder’s Day

The teachers and students of Beneavin De La salle College in Finglas marked De La Salle Day with a week of events in the lead up.

A great number of new students were presented with the Lasallian Star having been nominated by their teachers for outstanding contribution to the school and wider community.

A host of events marked the week such as a prayer service, colouring / art competition and programmes to develop a broad understanding of what it means to be Lasallian.

The school would like to extend their appreciation to 5th year student Milan Freeman for organising the annual Lasallian Chess tournament.

Weeks of preparation, practising and even teaching of chess to beginner level students goes into the tournament in advance.

The tournament will grow from strength to strength as new emerging chess players learn the skill and strategy of chess in preparation for the tournament.

Well done to all participants.

La Salle Day was marked with an enjoyable ice cream from the local ice-cream van for the students. They enjoyed the little break to bask in the sun and take a moment out from a busy day.

The staff in Beneavin De La Salle marked the day with an annual dinner in the school. A relaxing and enjoyable event to celebrate our school’s traditions and connections with La Salle.
