Enjoying a variety of events in DLS Senior School

Staff and students at De La Salle Senior School Malta continue to enjoy a variety of events including retreats, voluntary work, celebrating Founder’s Day and supporting charity.

Yearly retreat

Two groups of Form 3 students attended the yearly retreat organised for them. During the time spent together, the students had sessions about the 'Critical Media Literacy' and some advice on how to deal with one's own emotions which ties with the gospel of last Sunday from John 15: 17, 'This is my command: Love each other.'

Form 1 Retreat

The third group of Form 1 students joined us for their yearly retreat. The focus was on friendships, “It is impossible to please God if you do not live on friendly terms with others.” Saint John Baptist de La Salle.

COPE

During our COPE session recently, our educators had the opportunity to share insights and best practices. Educators from our Senior School who went on ERASMUS+ projects in the past months, came to learn, share, and grow through ERASMUS+ projects. They shared innovative ideas and explored ways how they can give a twist to teaching and learning and how they can practise collaborative approaches in education.

Erasmus

De La Salle Senior School has been participating in ERASMUS+ funded projects since 2019. These courses provided educators with new knowledge and skills about essential areas such as behavioural challenges at school, digital skills, and mental wellbeing.

The school encourages STEM education through the curriculum as well as during break through a number of clubs offered to students where they can develop their digital skills further.

To support further this objective, the school has now embarked on KA210 partnership project, ‘Transition from STEM to Robotics’, and we are partners with two more schools, a Polish and a Turkish school respectively together with a Portuguese Robotics company. This project has started earlier this month and will last for 13 months. Next month, students will receive STEM, Micro:Bit and VEX Robotics training in Poland, in October they will receive more training in Portugal and in November training will pursue in Malta.
