Downpatrick students enjoy Inclusion Workshop

At De La Salle High School Downpatrick on Tuesday afternoon, 30th January, the Year 12 and Post-16 students welcomed Gemma Kelly from Cara-Friend who held a Seminar to raise awareness on the LBGTQIA+ community.

The seminar focused on the issue of inclusion, and was very informative and enriching. The discussion was very important in helping to  raise awareness amongst the students of the LBGTQIA+ community.

Working with Year 12 Parents to support the student

GCSE Examinations are in the offing. They can be a very testing time (no pun intended!) for the students and for their families.

The Parents/Carers of the Year students in De La Salle High School, Downpatrick, were each given a support booklet that will hopefully give them support in helping their sons get the best possible results.

Head of Year 12, Mr. Tony Keeley, said, “The booklet is designed to help Parents and Carers encourage the students to have a “CAN DO” attitude and approach to the examinations. In working together with their homes, we hope to ensure each student gets the best possible outcome in their exams.

We wish everyone in every school the best of luck in the exams to come and hope this support will be of use to the students and their families.”
