District Council and Mission Team and planning for the future

Since September 2021 the District Council, the members of the Office of Mission and other District personnel have been meeting regularly with the facilitation of Caplor Horizons, an organisation that works with NGOs, Religious Orders, and service agencies on strategic change and organisational culture.

Over the course of last autumn and winter the groups met via Zoom to do some thinking about strategic objectives for the future of the Lasallian Family, our mission, and the District more broadly.

From September 28th to 30th, the groups gathered in-person in Oxford to further build capacity and momentum around sustainable structures for shared mission, build a sense of community and understanding, and further plan for the 2nd District Mission Assembly which will be held in Malta in February 2023.

Throughout the two days, through interactive and engaging presentations, team-building exercises, and time to share in groups, Brothers and Partners had a chance to consider and respond to the dream from the 46th General Chapter that, “We are one Lasallian Family, of different vocations, leaven for a more fraternal world, sent forth, to encounter God in those who are poor and to promote justice.”

The fruitful two days highlighted the life, hope and potential of the Lasallian Family and our mission throughout the District.
