Churchtown Lasallian Leaders empower students

Empowering, educating, and ensuring safety - these are the hallmarks of the TY Digital Leaders at De La Salle College Churchtown, who have been making significant strides in fostering a digitally responsible school community.

Taking their role to heart, the TY Digital Leaders recently embarked on a mission to equip 1st-year students with the tools they need to succeed in their Classroom Based Assessments (CBAs). With meticulous planning and dedication, they crafted and delivered a presentation that provided invaluable insights and strategies for academic excellence.

The presentation not only covered the practical aspects of preparing for CBAs but also delved into effective study techniques, time management skills, and the importance of seeking support when needed. By sharing their own experiences and tips, the Digital Leaders aimed to inspire confidence and motivation among their younger peers.

In addition to academic success, the Digital Leaders recognised the importance of digital safety in today's interconnected world. Understanding the risks and challenges that come with online interactions, they dedicated a portion of their presentation to educating students on how to guarantee their safety on the internet.

From safeguarding personal information to recognising and reporting cyberbullying, the Digital Leaders provided practical advice and resources to help students navigate the digital landscape responsibly. By fostering awareness and promoting digital literacy, they aim to create a safer online environment for all members of the school community.

But their responsibilities didn't end there. The TY Digital Leaders continued their management duties by overseeing the school's Chromebooks and spreading awareness in classrooms about the importance of taking care of the school's technology resources.

Through regular checks and reminders, they ensure that the school's technological assets are well-maintained and accessible to all students.

Their efforts have not gone unnoticed. The impact of the TY Digital Leaders extends far beyond the classroom, shaping a culture of responsibility, empowerment, and digital citizenship within De La Salle College. Their commitment to serving as role models and advocates for digital safety sets a powerful example for their peers and future generations.

As the TY Digital Leaders continue to lead by example, they embody the spirit of service and leadership that defines the ethos of De La Salle College. Their dedication to empowering their peers and ensuring a safe and thriving digital community is a testament to the values of integrity, excellence, and compassion that lie at the heart of our school.
