Warm welcome for First Years at St Gerald’s

Over the first few weeks, SGC’s youngest recruits have been finding their feet and settling into school life.

At this point, it has become a yearly tradition for first years to take part in a fantastic football blitz in Mitchell's GAA early in the month of September. The event was organised by Messrs. Forde, Naughton, O'Connor, and Geraghty in collaboration with the TY GAA Future Leaders.

First-year students were sorted into teams, and before moving on to the knockout rounds and the final, each team had to play a predetermined number of games. The blitz was an enjoyable day out for everyone involved, and the pupils showed off their abilities to operate in a team.

The TY organisers performed an excellent job of instructing the teams and officiating the games.

The Tyrone team triumphed, taking home a cup sponsored by the nearby company "Cuppa Joe's," thanks to owner Joe Behan
