Starting the day with prayer and reflection at St Benild

At St. Benild School we start off the day early morning prior to the commencement of lesson time with a quiet moment of reflection and prayer. This might be the only 'quiet' moment of the morning!

Upon arrival, children are encouraged to say 'hello' to Jesus present in the tabernacle in our prayer room, before going up to class. Moreover, members of staff gather at a set time to share a thought and a prayer.

This is prepared by members of the Leadership Team or by Educators, in turn. Prayer and reflections this month revolved around the Institute's theme  for this year, ‘Our heart is in the peripheries.’ Such initiative has instilled such a sense of belonging and has initiated so much sharing amongst members of staff!

Sunday's Welcome Walk and Picnic

What a wonderful opportunity for our Lasallian families to meet and get to know each other at the beginning of the term! A bright and crisp Sunday morning spent together in Buskett Woodlands, having fun and also learning some interesting facts about our local flora and fauna. What better way to welcome all aboard.

Break time for ADHD

On a National level, many schools around the island of Malta and Gozo participated in an initiative featuring a football activity during break time on Monday, 14th October 2024.  This activity took place simultaneously in schools at 12:05pm. This event was designed to be enjoyable whilst also raising awareness about ADHD.  Students and educators came to school wearing ORANGE.

Each grade  participated in football related activities led by professional coaches. Prior to these activities, pupils watched a video clip explaining the purpose for such dress down day and their different kind of break time.

Mission Weeks at St Benild School

We would like to share with you this year’s St. Benild MISSION towards the MISSIONS! This year, we will be helping the Sisters of Mother Teresa who have also kindly accepted to visit our school during assembly. A specially designed leaflet  has been printed out for each  pupil. The idea is NOT only collecting money, but collecting money with a purpose.

The children need to EARN the money –  they need to genuinely work for the money by doing small things with great love.  The child can collect up to 5 Euro by earning 50 cents per chore! Parents truly supported this initiative and helped us make it a meaningful experience for our young Lasallians.
