StAR commission meet with District representatives
Members of the StAR (Strategic Alliances for RELEM) Commission will meet with representatives from the District at a gathering in St Helens on December 6th.
The commission has been established to undertake a consultation with all Districts with a view to enhancing re-shaping our RELEM region and its Districts.
“Time is greater than space… This principle enables us to work slowly but surely, without being obsessed with immediate results. It helps us patiently to endure difficult and adverse situations, or inevitable changes in our plans. It invites us to accept the tension between fullness and limitation, and to give a priority to time… What we need is to give priority to actions which generate new processes in society and engage other persons and groups who can develop them to the point where they bear fruit in significant historical events. Without anxiety, but with clear convictions and tenacity”
(Pope Francis, The joy of the Gospell 223).
Moved by the same spirit, the StAR Commission will very shortly begin its journey in RELEM to meet with all the Districts and the Delegation, in the persons of the District Councils and MEL Councils and others involved in District Leadership and Animation.
The choice of the Commission, created by the MEL Assembly and appointed by the Conference of Visitors, is clear: to ensure that its efforts are aligned with the needs and perspectives of each District; have a more personal and interactive approach with each reality; listen carefully to everyone and, in common discernment, define the steps to be taken to create a renewed model of governance that favours collaboration between all Districts; respect local sensitivities, respond together to the Mission; support the journey to live as a ‘Lasallian Family with diverse vocations, leaven for a more fraternal world’ united but diverse in RELEM for alla the Institute. We ask the entire Region to accompany this ‘journey together’ praying to the Spirit that He may give life and renew our being Region, accompanied by St John Baptist de La Salle
Br Joël Palud, as General Councillor; Br Paul Cornec (FEF) and Br Paco Chiava (ARLPE) as Visitors; Mrs. Joke Maex (North Belgium) and Mr. Joseph Gilson (IGBM) as members of the Mel Council; Br Enrico Muller as Regional Executive Secretary.
