St Margaret Ward links with Philippines school

The PE Department at St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy have formed an exciting link with De La Salle Stantiago Zobel School in Manila.

An initial meeting was arranged to formulate plans and to share ideas on how two Lasallian communities can learn from one another. It was decided that it will be a three part project:

·         Creating and sharing powerpoints to help to understand each other

·         Exchanging pen pal letters over Microsoft Teams

·         Competing against each other in virtual sporting challenges.

It is such an interesting project and both schools are determined to make it work. Video calls will be held throughout the Autumn term and will endeavour to bring more school departments on board after Christmas.

The RE Department are exploring the possibility of celebrating a virtual Mass to end the calendar year, which will bring our communities closer together.

Pictured below at the first video call meeting are project leader Maisie Blakemore and Mark Pearson, Head of PE.
