Sixth Form students visit European Parliament

De La Salle Sixth Formers visited the European Parliament in Strasbourg and it proved to be a wonderful experience for all involved.

On their first day, they met with Dr Roberta Metsola, who was very impressed by the students, prompting her to post the following message on Facebook.:

“Great way to start the day: an inspiring conversation with De La Salle College Malta sixth-form students.

The more young people I meet the more I am convinced: you are not just the future, you are the present. Your ideas, your suggestions and dreams and can be achieved now, today.

It was great to listen to your aspirations, your thoughts and your proposals. On the environment, on research and innovation, on education, on jobs, on how Europe can continue bringing positive change to our lives.

Share this experience with your families and friends back home. Take the promise of Europe wherever you go. And always remember: speak up. Together we can make the European project even better than it is today.”

On the second day, they participated in Euroscola together with students from 21 European Countries. They had the opportunity to discuss, debate and listen to proposals regarding deforestation.
