Senior School students are making a huge contribution

Students and staff at De La Salle College Senior School are ending the year on a high with a wide range of events that have made a huge contribution to school life and the local community.

Eco-Captains

Our Eco-Captains have been busy inspecting classes to check whether our targets in our Environmental Sustainability action plan about waste management are being achieved.  Before this practice, they prepared a checklist of practices which they wish to see happening at our school.  This helped them understand better the school’s aims about waste management for this scholastic year and is helping them guide their fellow students into better sustainable practices.

PLAYCON Exhibition

Year 9, 10, and 11 students had the opportunity to experience diverse current technologies at the PLAYCON exhibition. Our students had a great time engaging in hands-on workshops and exploring various coding activities. Gratitude to the IT department for their assistance in coordinating this outing.

Student Council

The Senior School Student Council has been working hard on planning activities for this scholastic year. Some are also reading suggestions posted anonymously by the students. These suggestions are being discussed and put in order of importance.

Grand Prix

Recently the second tournament in the Student Arena Grand Prix for Secondary Schools was held. We are delighted to share that four of our students participated and demonstrated outstanding performance. Gabriel Grech emerged as the outright winner, securing an impressive 5 out of 6 victories.

Elias Aquilina and Jacob Leigh Micallef exhibited such a skill that none of the five tiebreaks could differentiate between them, resulting in a shared third place. Denzel Sciberras achieved a commendable 12th place.

Congratulations to all the boys for their remarkable achievements. Your success brings great pride to our school.

Keep striving for excellence, and may your passion for chess continue to flourish.

MSSF U16 Football Finals

De La Salle and three other church and independent schools participated in this year’s U/16 MSSF Football Finals. De La Salle kicked off the finals with a convincing victory against SPMC.  In the second match De La Salle lost against San Anton.  Our school found themselves facing Stella Maris in the final match, which they needed to win to secure first place in the standings.  A spirited and a collective effort secured a vital win which crowned De La Salle as this year’s MSSF U/16 Football winners.

DLS vs SPMC 4-0

DLS vs San Anton 1-2

Christmas Jumper

The Senior School Student Council would like to thank all the students and staff members for supporting their fundraising activity whilst getting into the Christmas spirit.

Library

In the senior school library, a Christmas tree has been crafted from books, each one adding a festive touch to the space. The holiday spirit is alive as these well-loved books find a creative way to spread cheer and celebrate the season.

A heartfelt thank you to the teachers/lse's and students who contributed to this activity. Your support made this festive creation possible!
