Plenary Assembly helps plan for future of Lasallian Mission

The 1st Plenary Assembly, summoning all Visitors to Rome to evaluate the new structures of the Institute and the implementation of the pathways of the 46th General Chapter was hosted at the La Salle Generalate from July 7th to 14th.

The Plenary Assembly is a fraternal encounter in a synodal perspective that convenes a group of Brothers of the Christian Schools and Lasallian Partners to discern God’s call to journey and make possible the Pathways of Transformation that will allow us to be “one Lasallian Family, with diverse vocations; leaven for a more fraternal world, sent forth to encounter God in those who are poor, and to promote justice”.

Unlike the General Chapter and the International Assembly of the Lasallian Educational Mission (AIMEL), the Plenary Assembly is not a decision-making or recommendatory body for the being and work of Lasallians. Rather, it focuses on the search for consensus based on a participative dynamic that allows us to move forward together around the priorities of the Institute.

Representing the District of Ireland, Great Britan and Malta, was Br. Ben Hanlon, while Br. Aidan Kilty and Heather Ruple were present in their roles as Director of the Office of Safeguarding and Chair of the Commission on Association, respectively.
