Many ways to live the Lasallian Values at DLS Senior School

Students at De La Salle College continue to live the Lasallian Values with recent activities including, preparation for the visit of Pope Francis, calls or blood donation, religious outing, creating Bee Hotels and supporting Down Syndrome.

 Pope Francis visit

In preparation for the arrival of Pope Francis among us, De La Salle College was represented in an activity held at the Auditorium of St. Agatha (St. Paul's Missionary College) in Victoria.

In this activity he was to preside over the E.T. Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna but was unwell. Instead, Dr. Nadia Delicata, Archbishop's Delegate for Evangelization, led the event. Two students, Sean Pearsal (1 Green) and Eric Briffa (2 Blue), took part in a dialogue where they spoke on topics that are dear to the Pope's heart such as Joy and Prayer, Mercy, Fraternity, Inclusion and Hospitality.

Nathan Zammit (1 Orange) and Jake Anthony Camilleri (2 Blue) were chosen to attend this event.

At the end of the activity, artistic expressions made by Form 1 and Form 2 students during the Religion lesson were presented to Dr Nadia Delicata.

Erasums

Blood Donation

The school community joined in calls to donate blood at this time by reminding people that a little love with love for the sick and the wounded gives you a lot of joy and satisfaction.

Volunteers were encouraged to donate blood between Monday and Friday, at the G'Manġa Blood Donation Center, available to you from 8am to 6pm.

In the meantime we also invite you to visit www.tikka.mt and www.blood.gov.mt

The Service, thanking in advance all those who will come to donate blood, reminds us of the importance of always presenting our identity card.

Bee Hotels

Collaboration between the DLS Senior school students and the EkoSkola members at the Junior School - bee hotels done by Form 4 design and technology students to increase pollination at De La Salle College.

Religious outings

After two years of not going to school due to the Covid-19 pandemic, today we took the first class, Form 1 Green, Victoria and Mdina on the footsteps of St. Paul. Treasure Hunt that I prepared for the students accompanied us to the places we had to show.

We visited St. Paul's Cave and together with the Archpriest of St. Paul's Basilica in Victoria, Canon Fr Joe Mizzi, we had a moment of prayer in this holy place where St. Paul celebrated the first Mass, he lived among us for three months and where he started the Church in Malta. Pope Francis visited the cave on April 3. We also visited the catacombs and shelters used in World War II as well as the Wignacourt Museum.

During the walk we continued our journey to St. Joseph's Church of St. Mary of Jesus of the Friars Minor which is decorated for the Feast of the 19th of March.

We also entered the ancient city of Malta, Mdina and continued the treasure hunt in the silent streets of this city.

The outing and the treasure hunt were a success and the students had fun and became interested.
