Lasallian Prefects Investiture Ceremony at Beneavin

On October 6th there was a ceremony for our new prefects for 2022/23 in the De La Salle Hall in Beneavin De La Salle College. The Lasallian Prefects in the college have a very important role to play as they are role models to other students. Those who are given the role of prefect work with and engage with junior students.

This group of students have taken on the role of mentor to first years in the college and came into the school in August to work with them and help them settle in. The role of prefect is a chance for students’ voices to be heard and provides leadership opportunities to students within the school.  They act as ambassadors for the College.

As part of the celebration the new Lasallian Prefects were presented with a custom made tie specifically for prefects in the college as well as a pin and a certificate.  These young men are encouraged to wear their tie and pin with pride.

Many of these students headed to Castletown the following week. They had a wonderful two days with students from other Lasallian Schools at the Student Leadership Programme. It was an opportunity for them to reflect on their own role and develop their skills as leaders.

Congratulations and well done to Preston, Ramsey, Nathan D, Nathan B, Finn, Richard, Seán, Julijus, Toby and Luke.  Good luck in your role as Lasallian Prefects.
