District mourns the passing of Br. Edmund

The District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta is mourning the loss of Br. Edmund Jones who passed away in St John’s House, St Helens, on October 25th.

The Funeral Mass took place at 11:30am on Thursday, November 9th, at St John's House, followed by burial at St Helens Cemetery.

Br. Edmund, who was born James Ivor Jones on June 15th, 1931, on Merseyside, attended the Novitiate at Inglewood, Kintbury, in 1962 and taught at St Cassian’s Juniorate, Kintbury, and later at St Joseph’s Academy, Blackheath, where he took his final profession.

He continued his studies in Mill Hill in 1989 and at the Eccles Community the following year, before joining the Speke Community in 1992 and taking up a role as SEN Support at De La Salle School Liverpool.

After five years, Br. Edmund joined the Oxford Community where he served as District Accountant before retiring to St John’s House, St Helens.
