De La Salle Dundalk’s Past Students’ Union

The launch of the DLS College Past Pupils’ Union, ‘DLS Union,’ was celebrated with the inaugural reunion of the Class of 2024, whose desire to stay connected after finishing school in June inspired the union’s creation.

The event was held on Friday, October 25th, at Mo Chara, the popular Jocelyn Street venue rich in De La Salle spirit. Owned by past pupils Cillian and Vincent Mulligan, Mo Chara stands as a testament to their lifelong friendship, which began in school when alphabetical seating plans placed them side by side. It was a fitting choice for the union’s launch, as the pub may not exist today were it not for their shared time at De La Salle.

The reunion had a fantastic turnout, with past pupils and teachers gathering in a warm and nostalgic atmosphere. In a tradition that will continue annually, the exiting year group will be invited to the event for the first time, joining all the year groups before them. The vision is for the event to grow in numbers year on year, turning the night into a celebration of shared memories and lifelong connections.

Beyond the reunion, the DLS Union has an exciting calendar planned, including the annual golf classic in May, as well as regular newsletters to keep alumni informed and engaged. Membership is free and open to all past pupils of De La Salle College Dundalk. Alumni can join by clicking on this link or scanning the QR code.

Contributions to the union are welcome - ideas for events, photographs, or newsletter submissions can be sent to union@delasalle.ie. We’d love to hear from you!

This inaugural reunion has set the tone for the DLS Union’s future, strengthening the bonds of the De La Salle community and creating a space for past pupils to reconnect and celebrate their enduring legacy.
