DLS Senior School set an example to all
Staff and students at De La Salle Senior School continue to set a wonderful example to all in they way they embrace the Five Core Principles of a Lasallian School. This has been evident through a number of events over the past few weeks.
Battery collection
In the past months we have charged up for a cause! As part of this year’s action plan our school has embarked on a battery collection competition which is also in aid of Hospice Malta. Tens of kilograms of batteries have been collected thanks to all our students’ and teachers’ participation. Let's power up our efforts and make a difference together.

Erasmus
Professional development is one of our main priorities at De la Salle Senior School. Knowledge knows no borders and thanks to ERASMUS+ funds, a number of educators received training abroad as part of the school’s third part of a three tier ERASMUS project funded by the European Union.
During this week’s COPE session, information was disseminated amongst our educators who will be introducing it into our teaching and learning process. Information varied from unlocking the secrets of the Finnish Education model to navigating AI with critical thinking, diving into game design, and fostering a growth mindset in our students.
Special thanks to our educators who collaborated in this COPE session and @EUPA.

Last weekend, a group of Form 4 students went to the La Salle Pastoral Centre for their yearly retreat. They had the opportunity to think about what has value in life and what gives us joy.
Form 5 Retreat
What's Next? .... Looking Ahead.
Throwback to the Form 5 retreat back in January. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and reflect on themselves, now that a chapter of their life in secondary school will soon come to an end and a new one will start.
Global education
During the week March 11th-16th, Mr. R. Grech and Mr. D. Henderson from the senior school, embarked on a trip to Prague to attend a course on Global Education & Critical Media Literacy.
During this course, they learnt about different ways to tackle fake news and media manipulation, whilst also looking at critical thinking skills that can be implemented in the classroom.

The Lasallian Animation Team within the Senior School has focused on Pope Francis’s message for Lent 2024 to “Slow down and pause in Prayer”.
All through Lent, our students alternated between Lenten Talks, Penitential Acts, and Prayer Spaces. A special thanks go to all the clergy and members of the Society of Christian Doctrine (MUSEUM) as well as students and staff members who helped throughout these past weeks.
“Live Jesus in our hearts. Forever.”
European Money quiz
A group of Form 4 students participated recently in the National European Money Quiz 2024. The national competition brings together students aged 13-15 from different schools across the Maltese Islands to test their financial literacy skills.
De La Salle College is proud that one of these students, Ryan Gabriel Vella, placed first in this quiz and will compete in the European Finals in Brussels in April. Big well-done Ryan and good luck for the coming competition.
