Br Ben convenes second District Mission Assembly

Brother Visitor, Ben Hanlon, has written to the Lasallian Family to convene the Second District Lasallian Educational Mission (MEL) Assembly for Ireland, Great Britain and Malta.  The theme of the Assembly will be, “One La Salle: Transforming the World Through Education” and it will take place in Malta from Monday February 6th to Wednesday February 8th, 2023.

The full text of Br Ben’s letter is as follows:

Dear Lasallians,

I write today to convene the Second District Lasallian Educational Mission (MEL) Assembly for Ireland, Great Britain and Malta. The theme of the Assembly will be,
“One La Salle: Transforming the World Through Education.”

I am asking the District Mission Council, with the support of the Office of Mission, to take on the planning and all necessary preparations for this Assembly.

The Mission Assembly will take place between Sunday, 5th February 2023 (travel day) and Thursday, 9th February 2023 (travel day) at the San Antonio Hotel in Bugibba, Malta.

This is the District’s second Mission Assembly. It will celebrate four years of growth and development of the Mission involving all of our ministries, groups, committees and communities. Our recent General Chapter (May 2022) invites all Lasallians to become involved in the future pathways to safeguard and strengthen the Mission. Our Assembly will reflect this call and develop plans for the coming four years and beyond in order to ensure our Lasallian Mission, Ethos and Identity.

We are aware that not everyone who would like to be a delegate to the Assembly in Malta will be able to do so. However, we want and need the help, support, and involvement of every Lasallian in the District as we prepare for this very important milestone in the life of the District.

From September 2022, there will be regular communications to ensure the journey of our Second District MEL Assembly is as open and as transparent as possible and therefore we look forward to engaging with you.

Live Jesus in Our Hearts,

Brother Ben Hanlon
Visitor
