Students continue to live the Lasallian Values
Students at De La Salle College continue to live the Lasallian Values on a daily basis and some of the recent projects to highlight these principles include, book donations, exploring friendship and celebrating International Men’s Day.
International Men’s Day
International Men's Day was celebrated by the Senior School students and staff, in collaboration with HSBC Malta, during which personal care items which were collected during the month of November, were donated to the residents at St Jeanne Antide Foundation, Tarxien.
Book Donation
A special thank you goes to the students and staff of both Junior School and Senior School for donating preowned books to Library on the Move at Mater Dei Hospital.
Another thank you goes to the students who prepared personalised bookmarks to place in the books, as well as the students and staff, who volunteered their time to prepare the 1719 books collected and placed them in boxes.
Exploring friendship
In November, Form 1 students had the opportunity to spend the day together at the La Salle Pastoral Centre. The theme of friendship was discussed. As the founder, Saint John Baptist de La Salle, said, 'It is impossible to please God if you do not live on friendly terms with others”.
Esplora
On the 15th of December 2022, Form 5 Scheme 5 and 5 Scheme 4 visited the Esplora Science center, accompanied by Mr. Chris Saliba, Ms. Isabel Zahra, and Mr. Ramon Mallia.
This was a good opportunity for the students to perform hands-on science experiments and explore tech exhibits. Moreover, students together with their teachers enjoyed a very good educational performance on Weatherology!

Student Council
Our congratulations to Gabriel Debono (Form 5), Kyle Jo Pisani (Form 4), Eric Briffa (Form 3), Fayton Gatt (Form 2) and Aaron Boxman (Form 1) who have been elected to the Senior School Student Council 2022-2023. Democratic elections were held across the Senior School on Wednesday 14th December 2022, where students voted individually on a ballot sheet for the student they would like to have representing their Form. The aim of the Student Council is to participate in the planning of school events, work with the Senior Management Team (SMT) and be part of initiatives for the school and students. The Student Council members will bring ideas, requests and feedback to the meetings and a democratic process will be used to give students a voice in the Senior School
Senior School Student Council Members received a training session on Friday 20th January where they were given a variety of skills by Agenzija Zghazagh, which can be used during their candidature. Looking forward to see what they have in store for our Senior School.
Form 5 Retreat
Four years after their first retreat in the senior school, a group of Form 5 students accepted the invitation to spend the weekend together at the La Salle Pastoral Centre in Mellieha. Notwithstanding the bad weather, the students had a good time with their teachers. We thank Fr Ray Scicluna, who led one of the sessions where he discussed topics the students chose and answered some of the questions they had. We also thank Fr Allister Aquilina for coming on Saturday to celebrate mass with us as a closure to the retreat.
