Stella Maris students show caring side at Christmas

Students at Stella Maris Junior School showed their caring side as they celebrated the festive season by helping others.

Caring for the Elderly

As a yearly tradition, Junior school students used to visit the Homes of the Elderly for Christmas time to show them that they care.  Unfortunately, this year due to Covid-19 restrictions, our students could not visit the Homes for the Elderly.

The teaching staff asked the students to prepare a lovely card, and write a personal message to one of the elderly.

These cards together with some beautiful hampers will be presented to these elderly from four different homes.  All items in the hampers were brought by the students.

St Nicholas Celebration

On December 6th, the Church celebrated the feast of St Nicholas of Myra. At Stella Maris Junior School, we celebrated St Nicholas Day on Thursday December 2nd. The students and members of staff wore Santa Claus outfits or Christmas Jumpers to commemorate St Nicholas.

A special school assembly was held in the morning to remind the students the acts of kindness St Nicholas did in his time.  Different activities were organised in class and the students donated money towards L-Istrina (Community Chest Fund), a fund which helps people in need.
