St Margaret Ward students mark Month of Holy Souls

Throughout the month of November, students at St Margaret Ward spent time remembering and praying for those who have died, whether they be relatives and friends of members of our community or those who we may heard about who have passed away recently, particularly victims of war and violence.

Students wrote the names on small wooden crosses kindly made by our DT Department. These names were then offered as intentions at Mass celebrated with Y8 towards the end of the month. We then had a special time of prayer and asked God to bless the crosses as we put them into our Prayer Garden where they will remain as a reminder of all those we know and love.

Through these actions our students have been busy putting the Lasallian value of Faith in the Presence of got into practice. Through their memorial and prayers, we remember that to God ‘all men are yet alive’ (Luke 20:38). Students also noticed the inscription on our Prayer Garden from Matthew’s Gospel, stating ‘And remember, I am with you always, to the very end of time.’ (Matthew 28:20), noting God’s promise that he will always be with us.
