Sharing link for La Salle for Women webinar

In March 2021 the District, along with the Secretary of Solidarity and Development (ONLUS) for the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, hosted a webinar focused on the Lasallian response to the needs of women and girls in the world today and their access to education. It was a wonderful moment of solidarity and sharing. Participants left uplifted and challenged.

The planning committee wanted to share a recording of the webinar with our schools and encourage use of the recording with groups of students. We offer the following questions to spark guided conversation and dialogue among students.

What surprised you by what you heard?

What upset or challenged you?

What did you find inspiring and want to know more about?

What is the experience of women and girls at your Lasallian School? In your local reality?

How can the Lasallian Family support women and girls in and beyond the Lasallian Family?

In the recording you will find an introduction, prayer, a presentation about the realities and challenges women and girls face accessing education, and a presentation from five panellists from around the Lasallian Family sharing how they are responding to this need. The video concludes with some general sharing and ideas for next steps.

Here is the link to the full webinar. In the description on YouTube you will find chapters for each section and speaker/topic in the webinar. This will enable you to use part or all of the recording. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIkgH-2Jiws

Lasallian women make up 58% of Lasallian Partners today. There is a growing response to women and girls around the world through Lasallian Educational ministries. We felt it opportune to invite our District and young people to be aware and attentive to the needs, realities, and Lasallian responses to women and girls today.

Please feel free to contact heatherruple@lasalleigbm.org with any questions or to learn more about how we, the Lasallian Family of the District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta, can help support these important initiatives.
