Appeal to support petition for De La Salle Academy, Liverpool

De La Salle Academy in Liverpool needs your help. Lasallians throughout the District are being asked to lend their support to a Lasallian school that has been threatened with closure.

A petition has been launched to back the campaign to keep the De La Salle Academy in Liverpool open, and it would be greatly appreciated if you could add your signature.  Please share this with colleagues, relatives and others.

The Academy is situated in an area of the city that faces many social challenges and for almost 100 years has been very much at the heart of the community by carrying out the Lasallian mission of providing a human and Christian education to the young, especially those most in need.

Parents and local community groups and have been left in shock by the threat of closure, and much of the anger at the decision to serve a termination warning stems from the fact that it came at a time when the required improvements were being made. Those fighting to keep the school open are determined to get the chance to continue those improvements.

The De La Salle Academy has been given until the 30th June to reply to the RSC so there is a short turnaround. Please help if you can.
