Looking after mental health at St Gerald’s

During Wellbeing Week at St Gerald’s De La Salle College, our Guidance Counsellor, Ms Geraghty, delivered an informative session on stress management to our 6th year classes.

Students learned about a range of strategies that can help them cope with stress and difficulties in their lives. They discovered that managing stress can lead to a more balanced and healthier lifestyle. We thank Ms Geraghty for her invaluable contribution to our Wellbeing Week programme and for equipping our students with these essential skills.

St. Gerald's DLS College recently participated in the 'Hello, How Are You?' campaign in collaboration with Mayo Mental Health. We express our gratitude to Mr. Lawlor and the Student Wellbeing Team for emphasising the significance of mental health in St. Gerald's College during their appearance on Midwest Radio. We would also like to extend our appreciation to the English Department for allowing the 6th Year students to take a break and engage in meaningful conversations.

Many thanks to Jenna from Mayo Mental Health Association, who spoke to our 3rd year students today about the risk & protective factors in maintaining a mentally healthy lifestyle. Jenna also discussed how to support someone experiencing a mental health difficulty.

Many thanks to Oisin McConville who spoke to our 5th year students today about his personal experience with a gambling addiction. It was a very honest and thought provoking talk for the students.
