Living Lasallian Values in Basildon

Students and staff at De La Salle School Basildon continue to live the Lasallian Values in many ways and this month this has included Partnership Working and celebrating Ash Wednesday.

Partnership Working

De La Salle Basildon began a new project working with the Pioneer S E N School which caters to meet the needs of pupils with severe and multiple learning difficulties from aged 3-19.

They have provision to meet the needs of pupils with severe and multiple learning difficulties who have an EHC plan. A number of pupils also have associated physical, sensory or communication difficulties, emotional behavioural difficulties and or medical problems.

A group of 6 students from De La Salle from years 9 and 10 regularly attend the school for between an hour and an hour and a half and help out with playground activities; sensory work and helping them in the classroom.

Ash Wednesday

90 young students attended our Ash Wednesday Voluntary Mass from Years 7 – 11, marking the first day of Lent.

Chaplaincy is using as its main theme ‘Finding God in the Chaos’ during the Lenten Season and challenging its Students weekly to do something active such as ‘Turning off devices for five minutes and spending that time in prayer trying to listen to God’ and other such activities.
