Students take inspiration from teachers at St Peter’s
Students at St Peter’s Bournemouth are learning the importance of fulfilling potential from the inspirational example of teachers in their school, including PE teacher, Mrs Murphy, who recently became a world champion.
Mrs Murphy competed for England in the O60's Masters Hockey World Cup in Auckland, New Zealand, helping her team to overall victory.
The team won all their group games, including beating South Africa in the quarter-finals and The Netherlands in the semis. They played Scotland in the final, beating them 1-0 to become gold medal World Champions! “An amazing achievement,” said Mrs Murphy. “One that I am very proud of!”
What an inspiration for all.
The students have certainly been inspired by such example and recently the Primary Year 6 children did really well at the annual Bournemouth Schools Music Association Carol Concert
The festive season arrived early for 24 Year 6 children, who took part in the annual event at Bournemouth Pavilion on Tuesday 19 November. They had been practising in school since September and performed brilliantly.
Not only did they sing as part of the massed primary school choir, three Year 6 girls worked together to write their very own Christmas carol, which was chosen as the winning entry from all the local primary schools. This resulted in all the Year 6 choir performing their carol to an audience of over 1000! Well done to all involved.
