Eventful time at St Joseph’s Beulah Hill

St Joseph’s College, Beulah Hill, have enjoyed an eventful few weeks and among the highlights were the visit of Br. Chris Patino from the United States, and events to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Br Chris visits St Joseph’s College

On Monday, 28th February, we welcomed Br Chris to our College. Br Chris had a very busy day, which included taking questions from a Year 7 RE class and from our Student Council too. He had lunch with our altar servers and gave a talk to our teachers. Br Chris reminded us that the Lasallian mission is  about community and association. Your child is part of a very large Lasallian network, which boasts over 1 million students.

International Women’s Day

On 8th March we celebrated International Women’s Day. On this day we raise awareness of the inequality facing many women around the world even today. We also use this day as an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women and the amazing women that we know. In English, Year 7 students have been creating leaflets and posters to celebrate the wonderful women in their lives as well as spreading the message of this year’s International Women’s Day theme of ‘Break the Bias’. I think you’ll agree that their work is creative and colourful but most importantly sends an important message about equality.
