Many activities at De La Salle Junior School

Students at De La Salle College Junior School have been very active in the last number of weeks as they continue to make huge efforts on the Ekoskola project, while they have also been inspired to experience the joy of reading.

Ekoskola

Well done to the DLS JS Ekoskola committee members, Nathan Grech, Liam Mizzi, Ethan Borg, Neil Abela and Jacob Cachia for representing our school in the National Strategy for the Environment 2050 has been issued for public consultation.

This Strategy directs the path for protecting and managing our environment from now till the next generation. Today’s children are tomorrow’s future, so the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) invited our school to participate in the ongoing public consultation on this Strategy.

The DLS JS Ekoskola committee members discussed and shared suggestions about the use of water with the Minister of the Environment, Honourable Miriam Dalli and ERA personnel.

Book Week

Reading is seen as a valuable asset at De La Salle College Junior School. Book Week is an opportunity to introduce this concept to children, families, and educators, as well as to foster the love of books and tales. To this end, all Lasallian educators continue to urge all students to become voracious readers and to immerse themselves in these wellsprings of knowledge.
De La Salle College Junior School has decided to extend Book Week throughout the academic year 2022-2023, with various fun and educational reading-related activities taking place in different year groups throughout the year.
One activity is the book challenge. Every week, the animation team together with the rest of the educators and SLT members post a different challenge for the boys to complete at home. Parents and guardians are then encouraged to share a photo of their son reading a book related to the challenge posted on the Lasallian Facebook page, ' Lasallian Bookworm' and on Teams.
