The Lord’s Prayer:

It was wonderful to welcome our new Chaplain Sam Cantillon to De La Salle School, St Helens.  Sam was keen to keen to make some alterations to the decor in the Chapel and asked the Art Department for some artwork that creatively represented the Lord's Prayer.

Keen to help, the year 7 pupils painted backgrounds whilst responding to music; this was such a lovely way for them to start their journey at De La Salle.

Our talented Photography teacher Miss Winder then cropped, selected, and arranged the work.  We are so proud of the results; a beautiful set of artworks to be displayed for years to come.

Year 7 achieve Arts Award Bronze

Just as the summer term was winding down, 24 pupils from De La Salle, St Helens, were busy being creative as they worked towards and completed their Arts Award Bronze.

This qualification awarded by Trinity Arts College London, encourages pupils to not only learn new art skills, but to teach those skills to others. To do this, pupils planned art workshops for their peers and in some cases their parents. These pupils dedicated hours of their time through after school and lunch workshops and home study.

Despite all the obstacles that covid and isolation threw at them, they all sailed through moderation and passed.

We are extremely proud of this group of students, they proved themselves to be creative, independent, and just a joy to work with!
