Advent at Belfast Pastoral Centre

The team at La Salle Pastoral Centre Belfast created an Advent programme which was delivered to St Teresa’s PS as a full day retreat in the centre.

The response from teachers was really positive and included the following: “Primary 6C attended an Advent Workshop today at De La Salle Centre to rediscover the true spirit of Christmas. They explored the true meaning of Advent in a fun and interactive way and enjoyed creating their own Advent Giving calendar to encourage acts of kindness in the lead up to Christmas. They also had the opportunity to explore stories from the Old Testament and use meditation to develop their understanding of the Nativity.”

The first session of this retreat was delivered to Yr 8 students in De La Salle College, Belfast. Each student made an Advent Giving Calendar highlighting the importance of giving during this season (and all year round). The boys thought of a positive action they can do for another person for each day of Advent in preparation for Christmas.

The teacher commented, “Year 8 boys took part in an Advent Workshop with the De La Salle Pastoral Centre. Well done Year 8!”
